Clear Connections Online Learning Program
Student/Parent Expectations

Successful students in Clear Connections will require support from caring adults at home and within the online classroom environment.

Parent

  • Follows the designated schedule communicated by their teacher during synchronous times and completes asynchronous activities assigned
  • Uses a designated workspace
  • Ensures camera is turned on for all class meetings
  • Participates in learning through live and independent learning class time (applying CCISD core values)
  • Takes responsibility for advocating for themselves
  • Turns in assignments at the direction of the teacher
  • Actively engages in the lesson
  • Participates in daily check-in to classes at designated times
  • Monitors and asks for evidence that your child is on track with assignments and coursework. Checks itslearning for links to teacher lessons and communication.
  • Serves as a learning coach for your child, by assisting with day-to-day activities with the exception of designated independent work and assessment
  • Assists in supporting your child’s needs by establishing and managing the daily schedule communicated by the teacher
  • Creates a designated learning space for your child at home
  • Maintains communication with your child’s teacher by phone, email messages, and/or online meetings to create a learning partnership
  • Understands learning is a process that involves productive struggle.Struggling is allowed and encouraged! Don’t help too much. Becoming independent takes lots of practice.
